Mike Breen speaks out on Doris Burke ESPN rumors after Rick Carlisle rage

ESPN's lead NBA commentator Mike Breen has spoken out on the rumors his colleague Doris Burke is facing an uncertain future with the network.

Breen is under a long-term contract with the Disney-owned network and his position isn't believed to be under threat.

However, the same can't be said for Burke, and ESPN officials are apparently deciding on her future while judging the type of broadcast team she works best on.

Now, however, Breen has spoken about his on-camera relationship with Burke, saying he feels like some of the NBA Finals broadcasts this season have been the trio's best ever.

Right now, what Im focused on and what I am thrilled at is with the growth weve had as a team, he said to The Athletic .

These Finals, I really feel like weve come so far.

I dont know the exact amount or number of games weve done together, but its not many.

I dont think people understand how difficult it is to find that chemistry.

Its hard in a two-person booth; its harder in a three-person booth.

Im blown away by Doris and Richard and their work ethic and their care factor to get it right.

"Ive had so much fun with them.

Some of these Finals broadcasts have been far and away our best together, and we keep getting better.

Thats my thought going into Game 7.
