Rhode Island women's basketball team announces its conference schedule; what you need to know

The University of Rhode Island women's basketball team will be tested against the Atlantic 10 elite during their upcoming conference season.The Rams will play home-and-home with two of the top four teams in the league last season, including the outright champion.Richmond stormed through the conference with a 17-1 mark on its way to a second straight NCAA Tournament bid.
Saint Josephs finished fourth and secured the last double bye at the conference championship.
The Spiders and Hawks will welcome URI and visit the Ryan Center for a total of four games in 2025-26.Fordham, George Washington and VCU will also play home-and-home with the Rams next season.
Both the VCU Rams and the Revolutionaries finished below URI in the standings last season, and only Fordham finished with a .500 record in the league.
All three were eliminated within the opening two rounds of the conference tournament.The Rams play a single road game against four different opponents, including George Mason.
The Patriots knocked off Saint Josephs to earn a March Madness bid last season, their first in program history.
URI also travels to Dayton, La Salle and Loyola Chicago.Davidson, Duquesne, St.
Bonaventure and Saint Louis will visit Kingston for single games.
The Wildcats were third in the regular season last year, landing between George Mason and the Hawks.
The Bonnies finished last in the standings at just 2-16.The Rams rallied after a bumpy nonconference run in 2024-25 to end 17-16 overall and 11-7 in the league.
URI lost an overtime conference tournament quarterfinal against the Hawks, a 53-50 defeat that spelled the end of their season.
Saint Josephs slipped past Richmond in a semifinal upset before falling to George Mason in the title round.Three former league rivals arrived as transfers TaViyanna Habib (George Mason), Valentina Ojeda (VCU) and Brooklyn Gray (Saint Louis).
The Rams will be hoping that offsets the departures of veteran forwards Anaelle Dutat (Colorado) and Hawa Komara (George Mason).
