The Los Angeles Chargers are Justin Herbert's team.

Everyone knows that.

Except for one former NFL star.

Cowboys WR great Dez Bryant thinks that Jim Harbaugh could shock the NFL and bench Herbert.

Kaepernick and Alexis Smith situation all over again https://t.co/y1SdbTDc59 Forgive Bryant for the typo, but he's referring to Harbaugh's time as the head coach of the 2012 San Francisco 49ers.

Up to early in the 2012 season, Alex Smith was 20-6-1 as a starter for the 'Niners.

But after Colin Kaepernick made a cameo appearance and looked like a star, Harbaugh benched Smith for Kaepernick.

Kaepernick went on to lead the 49ers to an appearance in the Super Bowl.

Smith ended up in Kansas City to set the table for Patrick Mahomes.

And Kaepernick was eventually faded out of the NFL after kneeling during the national anthem.

Don't count on Bryant being right here.

But it's an interesting read of the situation.

If the unthinkable happens with the Chargers, Bryant will be able to say he told us so.
