College notes: Emmaus graduate Annika Herbine wrapping up stellar career at Iowa

Annika Herbine is the veteran force on the University of Iowa field hockey team, which is ranked seventh in Division I.
The senior forward from Macungie and an Emmaus High graduate has played in 68 games with 43 starts in her four years.
This season, she has started all eight games and has two goals and two assists.
She had the only score in a 1-0 victory over Delaware on Sept.
15.
In her career, Herbine has four goals and 10 assists Two other area athletes are on the squad.
Annikas sister Rachel has played in eight games with six starts and had an assist on the second goal as the Hawkeyes topped Villanova 2-0 last Sunday.
Senior Jacey Wittel (Pocono Mountain East) has played in eight games with three starts and has a goal.
The women have also helped the defense post four shutouts.
Iowa is 5-3 with the losses coming against No.
1 Northwestern (5-0), No, 2 North Carolina (2-1) and Rutgers 3-2 in a shootout.
Annika had a goal and an assist in the Rutgers game.
Colin Griffith Maryland mens soccer (Stroudsburg) The 5-foot-10, 160-pound junior scored the winning goal as the 19th-ranked Terps nipped Northwestern 2-1 in a Big Ten Conference game last Friday to move to 3-0 in conference play and 5-1-3 overall.
Griffith has started all nine games and has three goals.
The other two were big as well.
He scored the teams only goal in a 1-1 tie with San Diego State on Sept.
9 and came back to hit the back of the net in a 3-0 triumph over eighth-ranked Wisconsin on Sept.

Griffith is from Stroudsburg but played for Players Development Academy in high school.

Josephs womens soccer (Upper Perkiomen) The freshman forward has played in all 11 games for the Hawks, who are 4-3-4 after a 2-0 loss to Davidson last Sunday in Davidson, N.C.
Fisher has scored two goals and they were big ones.
She had the game winner in 2-0 victory over Rider on Aug.
29 and the teams only score in a 1-1 tie with Virginia Commonwealth last Thursday in Philadelphia.
Fisher has taken 15 shots with five on goal.
She is just two of eight freshmen seeing a lot of minutes.
Jake Tarburton Clarion football (Pennridge) The 6-foot-1, 239-pound junior is starting on the defensive line for the Golden Eagles who are 2-3 after opening their PSAC schedule with a 31-0 loss to nationally ranked IUP last Saturday in Indiana.
Tarburton had three tackles, was credited with 1.5 sacks and forced a fumble in the game.
He is the third leading tackler on the team with 27 with 10 of those tackles unassisted.
He leads the team in tackles for losses with 8.5 good for 59 yards with a team-high 5.5 sacks.
Brooke Bisko Marquette womens soccer (Bethlehem Catholic) The senior has come off the bench in 10 games for the Golden Eagles, who have are 3-7-2 overall and 0-2 in the Big East Conference after a 1-0 conference loss to Creighton in a home game Sunday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Bisko scored a goal in a 4-0 victory over Mercyhurst on Sept.
12, also in Milwaukee.
She spent the previous two seasons at Eckerd (Fla.).
Last season she was named to the All-Sunshine Conference second team after scoring 21 points on six goals and nine assists.
David Awauh Seton Hill football (Bethlehem Catholic) The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder is having another strong season for the 2-2 Griffins.
He is second on the team in tackles with 24, including 16 unassisted.
He also has three interceptions which are the most in Division II.
Awauh had two picks in a 27-24 PSAC victory over West Chester on Sept.
21.
Both were in the end zone, both stopping touchdown drives.
Last season, Awauh had 52 tackles, including 37 solos, and two interceptions.
Olivia Keckler Central Connecticut womens volleyball (Easton) The Blue Devils have started 2-10, but the team is getting solid play from the 6-foot-1 freshman opposite.
Keckler is third on the team in kills with 74, third in total blocks with 15 and third in points with 93.0.
She is also tied for second in service aces with 11.
Keckler had big games in the teams two victories.
She had a season-high 13 kills in a 3-2 triumph over Holy Cross on Sept.
14 and came back with 12 kills in a 3-0 win over St.
Peters on Sept.17.
Evan Eichenlaub Babson (Mass.) mens golf (Moravian Academy) The sophomore finished tied for second place in a field of 99 at the Williams Invitational Sept.
21-22 in Williamstown, Mass.
He posted rounds of one over 72 and came back with a two-over 73 for a 145 total.
Eichenlaub tied for the lead entering the final round but bogeyed four of the first eight holes.
He bounced back on the back nine with the help of two birdies.
In the season opener, the Duke Nelson Invitational on Sept.
15, he finished tied for fifth out of 120 golfers with a 146 total.
Katie Henchy Susquehanna womens soccer (Nazareth) The 5-foot-3 freshman goalkeeper has had a solid start to her college career with the River Hawks, who are 4-4-2 after opening the Landmark Conference schedule with a 0-0 tie with Wilkes last Saturday in Selinsgrove.
Henchy had three saves.
It was her third shutout of the season.
She had 16 saves in 4-0 loss to 11-ranked College of New Jersey last Wednesday.
That is the best total for the program since 2014.
She has started eight games and is 2-4-2, giving up 20 goals with 53 saves.
Peter Tichy West Chester mens soccer (Freedom) The 6-foot-1 redshirt sophomore is the second leading scorer on the Golden Rams with seven points on three goals and an assist with two game winners.
Tichy had the first goal and an assist in a 5-0 victory over Holy Family on Sept.
7 and two goals including the go-ahead third goal in a 4-2 PSAC East triumph over Bloomsburg on Sept.
21.
He earned PSAC Athlete of the Week for that performance.
Tichy had a goal and two assists in 13 games last season.
Nick Reimer Bowling Green football (Central Catholic) The 6-foot-6, 315-pound senior is starting at tackle on offense for the Falcons who are 1-3 after a 30-27 setback to Old Dominion last Saturday in Bowling Green, Ohio.
ODU scored a touchdown with 24 seconds remaining for a comeback victory.
Reimer helped the offense get 399 yards in total offense with 303 coming on passes.
Bowling Green is averaging 397 yards in total offense in the four games.
Reimer joined the team this season after playing in 35 games in four years at Merrimack (Mass.).
