With the American League playing well as a whole, there's a scenario where the Guardians could fall out of the playoff picture over the next few months.

While some expect that the Guardians will look to move on from players, there's no reason for the team to consider trading Jose Ramirez.

Not only is Ramirez loved by the fan base, but he's also one of the top five to 10 players in the league, and has consistently proven that over much of the past decade.

But despite that, Bleacher Report recently linked him to the New York Yankees.

They added that the Yankees need a third baseman, and he'd make the most sense.

While that's fair to suggest, it'd be one of the more shocking trades in Major League Baseball history if they decided to move on from him.

Ramirez, 32, is another guy with full no-trade protection, and thus another guy who will go anywhere only if he wants to.

This said, the Yankees' contention outlook is a heck of a lot better than Cleveland's, and that is even with a hole on their infield.

He would fill that by playing third and bumping Jazz Chisholm Jr.
