Alex Cora Gives Vague Response on Internal Red Sox Conversations About Promoting Roman Anthony originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The big question surrounding the Boston Red Sox at this moment deals with Roman Anthonys debut timeline.

Currently maintaining a fourth-place, 31-35 record entering Sundays match against the Yankees, their season can still go either way.

With the majority of spectators and analysts holding the belief that the Red Sox could break their skid if Anthony were promoted, calls to do so have already been prevalent and these calls are only growing louder.

Anthony, the highest-ranking prospect in baseball, has been posting respectable numbers in Triple-A, hitting to a .288/.423/.491 slash line with 10 home runs.

Whether or not Anthony is the difference-maker that turns Bostons season around, there doesnt seem to be a valid argument for holding him in the minors.

When asked if there have been conversations about promoting Anthony, manager Alex Cora had this to say: "Obviously, there's always conversations, not only about him, but other players.

I've been loud and clear about this whenever I get asked on Wednesdays [during my weekly radio spot].

Hes actually doing an outstanding job.

Let's be honest about that.

It's just a matter of what we're going to do, how were going to do it, or when were going to do it, right? And I keep getting the questions, and that's my best answer.

In Coras response, he raises more questions than answers, specifically three: what, when and how.

It would be unthinkable if Anthony didnt make his debut this season, but to Coras rather unspoken point, there is an outfield puzzle that needs to be solved to make way for his promotion.

For instance: do they trade Jarren Duran? Do they move Ceddanne Rafaela to the infield and demote one of their other infielders? What will they do with Masataka Yoshida when he returns? So, if Coras response doesnt offer any answers, it might indicate that he doesnt have any as of yet.

For now, Anthonys timeline will remain clouded in uncertainty as Bostons season hangs in the balance.
