The Jacksonville Jaguars are hoping to have an explosive year offensively in 2025, with several key changes both in coaching and personnel.

On his show this week, Rich Eisen made a bold prediction about their star receiver.

Rich Eisen was asked multiple this or that questions on his latest podcast episode.

One of those raised a debate about Jacksonville Jaguars star wideout Brian Thomas Jr.

Eisen picks Thomas Jr.

over former college team mate Brian Thomas Jr.

had a phenomenal rookie season for the Jaguars, recording 1,282 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

He immediately proved to be a deep threat for the franchise with two catches for 94 yards in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns , including a 66-yard deep ball from Lawrence that took the offense down to the six-yard line.

Three weeks later in Week 5, Thomas eclipsed 100 yards for the first time, with 122 yards and a touchdown against the division rival Indianapolis Colts .

Trevor Lawrence was ruled out for the remainder of the season in Week 13, having only featured in 10 games on the year.

Despite his absence, Thomas Jr.

continued to get better and better, and finished the season in exceptional fashion.

One of those was a two-touchdown game against the New York Jets , and in the following week, he set a career high with 132 receiving yards and a touchdown against the Las Vegas Raiders .

Thomas Jr.s performance in 2024 went largely unnoticed because the Jaguars werent particularly successful.

But in 2025, fans and analysts are expecting big things, especially if Trevor Lawrence can stay healthy for the full year.

On Eisens show, the host was asked who he believed would be even better than they were as rookies, between Thomas and his former LSU teammate Malik Nabers .

Ill go Brian Thomas Jr., how about them apples? Ill go there.

We definitely know whos throwing the football to Brian Thomas Jr.

Eisen went on to explain that having a consistent season with Trevor Lawrence is more appealing than the New York Giants unknown quarterback situation.

He stood firm on his stance, picking the Jaguars receiver as the more likely player to further improve on his rookie numbers.

Nabers caught 109 passes for the Giants as a rookie, totaling 1,204 yards and seven TDs.

He, too, dealt with changes at quarterback, with Daniel Jones being benched midway through the season.

Nabers role concealed Thomas Jr.s potential in college Both Nabers and Thomas played within the same offense for the LSU Tigers, which wasnt particularly explosive in the 2022 season.

In 2023, Jayden Daniels had a Heisman trophy season, and the Tigers offense was the most dangerous in all of college football.

The production of both Nabers and Brian Thomas dramatically improved, with the two stars combining for 29 receiving touchdowns on the season.

Nabers caught 86 passes for 1,545 yards and 15 TDs, while Thomas Jr.

caught 60 passes for 1,079 receiving yards and 14 TDs.

Nabers was targeted far more often, with a total of 124 to Thomas 74.

Brian Thomas Jr.

(WR #LSU ) will be one of the biggest draft risers.

Thomas Jr.

was the fourth receiver taken in the first round, going 23rd overall to the Jaguars.

He quickly emerged as their star wideout and will now be playing alongside Travis Hunter for the 2025 season.

With Liam Coen taking over as the teams head coach, the Jaguars are hoping the upcoming season will be their best yet with Trevor Lawrence as the franchise quarterback.

It could be the year that Brian Thomas puts himself among the leagues very elite at the position, and Rich Eisen is a believer.
