NFL Player Poll: Taylor Swift Coverage amid Travis Kelce Relationship 'A Positive'

A majority of NFL players polled in a recent survey by The Athletic see the press coverage of Taylor Swift's relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce as positive for the league.
According to The Athletic's Mike Jones , 74 of 102 players who answered the question described the attention surrounding Swift's attendance at NFL games as positive, while five ranked it as negative and 23 gave neutral responses.
One player told The Athletic: "I think it's been positive for the league.
I think that at the end of the day, it's a business and you need to get as many eyes on it as possible.
And she brings a lot of eyes, so, you know, if that increases the salary cap, I don't think anybody's gonna be too mad about that one." Another player countered with, "I feel like she is getting unnecessary coverage.
There was the whole NFL opening season video on Twitter and she was featured five times and our quarterback was featured none.
That's not even right.
She is not the NFL." Jones shared the opinion of a third player with a neutral view of the situation: "I'll jam to some Taylor Swift, but I don't give a s if she's at the game or not." Swift was first seen at a Chiefs game during Week 3 of the 2024 season.
She went on to attend 13 more games and watched Kansas City claim a second straight title over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.
According to a January report from Front Office Sports' Margaret Fleming using data from Apex Marketing Group, Swift generated an estimated brand value equivalent of $331.5 million for the Chiefs during the 2023 season.
The NFL drew its highest female viewership since 2000 last season, as well as its highest viewership from fans in the age 18 to age 34 range since 2019, according to the report.
The league may be glad to hear that players are for the most part fine with the marketing of Swift's NFL fandom.
Given the league's record national revenue numbers in 2023, it seems likely the NFL will continue drawing on her popularity as long as she continues to be seen at Arrowhead Stadium..
