4-star Detroit offensive lineman, Michigan State football target, sets commitment date

Michigan State football is gearing up to host one of the most important prospects in the 2026 recruiting class, looking to keep one of the state's best prospects at home.

Khalief Canty is a 6-foot-5, 305 pound offensive tackle from Detroit.

He plays at Michigan high school powerhouse Detroit Cass Tech, where he is a rated as a 4-star target, according to Rivals.

With the recruitment for Canty heating up, a decision date is nearing, and the Spartans are at the heat of the decision.

For months now, it has been a three team race, with Michigan State battling Missouri and North Carolina for the Technicians offensive lineman.

Canty already visited UNC on April 4, and has visits lined up to MSU on June 13 and Missouri on June 20.Following those visits, a decision will be made on June 23, where Canty has alluded to things changing within his recruitment.
