There's never been a better shortstop in Seattle than Alex Rodriguez.
He has company in one cool Mariners stat after Tuesday night, though.
Late on Tuesday, J.P.
Crawford singled in the third inning for his 700th career hit.
The Mariners announced that Crawford is the second shortstop in club history to ever reach the 700-hit plateau.
Rodriguez had 966 before he departed the Pacific Northwest.
Rodriguez didn't stay a shortstop after leaving the Rangers for the Yankees, moving over to third base to allow Derek Jeter to stay put.

But when Rodriguez was just a kid coming up in Seattle, he was almost immediately one of the best players on the planet.
Crawford isn't on that level, but it's still an awesome name to be mentioned with.

This season, he's batting .281 with five home runs and 22 RBI.
Another season or two in Seattle and Crawford has a chance to pass A-Rod for the most shortstop hits in Mariners history.
