More notably, Auburn has better playoff odds per ESPN's FPI than any of the other teams that failed to reach at least eight wins last year.
Auburn's heightened expectations despite consistently underperforming results stem from a strong incoming class orchestrated by head coach Hugh Freeze.
Per 247Sports, Auburn will usher in the eighth-ranked 2025 recruiting class.
As for the transfer portal, Auburn inked former five-star mega prospect and quarterback Jackson Arnold for the 2025 season.
The Oklahoma Sooners transfer showed signs of brilliance last season, limiting turnovers while demonstrating his rushing ability, highlighted by a 131-yard rushing effort in a massive upset win against the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

The Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide are the only other teams with odds better than 50 percent.
