Michigan State football: Spartans flip 2026 safety Brayden Thomas from Iowa State

Add a flip to Michigan State footballs building of its 2026 recruiting class.The Spartans picked up a pledge from three-star safety Brayden Thomas on Monday, June 2.
The product of Cleveland powerhouse St.
Edward previously had been committed to Iowa State since February but visited East Lansing over the weekend.The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Thomas is rated the No.
71 safety and 843rd-best prospect for 2026 according to 247Sports.coms composite rankings.
He was an honorable mention on the all-area defensive team by Cleveland.com and comes from a prep program that has produced a number of Spartans over the decades, most recently receiver Montorie Foster and defensive players Michael, Andrew and David Dowell.Thomas is the Spartans sixth commitment for 2026, all of them three-star recruits.
MSU picked up Colorado linebacker Braylon Hodge on Sunday and also has pledges from East Kentwood quarterback Kayd Coffman, North Branch offensive lineman Eli Bickel, and tight ends Eddie Whiting (Sioux Falls, South Dakota) and Joey Caudill (Mansfield, Ohio).Contact Chris Solari: [email protected].
