Sixers draft history: Jerami Grant selected No. 39 overall in 2014

With the NBA draft right around the corner, now is the time to look at some past drafts and see what the Philadelphia 76ers have done in their history.

The Sixers have selected some big-time players in the past who have become an important part of the fabric of the franchise's history.This edition continues to focus on 2014 as the Sixers continued to retool the roster.

With the No.

39 overall pick, the Sixers selected Jerami Grant out of Syracuse.

The 6-foot-7 forward was productive as a second-round pick in Philadelphia as he averaged 6.3 points and 3.0 rebounds as a rookie in 2014-15.Grant then averaged 9.7 points and 4.7 rebounds in his second season and caught the eyes of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Sixers sent Grant to the Thunder early in his third season in a deal that netted them Ersan Ilyasova and a 2020 draft pick which turned out to be Tyrese Maxey.Grant has since played for the Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, and is now with the Portland Trail Blazers.

He has since morphed into a scorer which started in Detroit, where he averaged 20.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in two seasons with the Pistons.
