Nehring joins Racer men as strength/conditioning coach

MURRAY Murray State Head Men's Basketball Coach Ryan Miller announced hiring of Jason Nehring, who will join the Racers as the program's strength & conditioning coach for the 2025-26 season.

"We are excited to have Jason join our program," Miller said.

"His passion for strength & conditioning will be very evident in how he instructs, relates and cares for our players.

His program is organized and he's able to tailor it to the individual and produce amazing results He's an important part of our team and we're looking forward to the summer of preparation for the 2025-26 season." "I want to thank Athletics Director Nico Yantko and Head Coach Ryan Miller for this for this opportunity," Nehring said.

"I am very eager to get started with our team and guide them to becoming the best they can be and to reach their goals.

We will work hard and smart to improve their bodies and minds." Nehring comes to Murray State with more than three decades of experience, including the last 12 years at Big East Conference member Seton Hall (South Orange, New Jersey), where he worked with all programs including men's basketball.

He also worked collegiately at Big Ten Penn State with all sports, including men's basketball and football, and the University of Kentucky of the Southeastern Conference with men's and women's basketball for seven years apiece.

In the National Football League, Nehring spent four seasons with Minnesota and was part of the 1998 team under Head Coach Dennis Green when the Vikings broke the NFL's single-season offense record with then-rookie wide receiver and eventual Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss.

Nehring is a 1996 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and was a member of the two-time national champion Eagles football team.

In 2003, he earned a Master's of Science in Kinesiology and Health Promotion-Biomechanics Emphasis from UK..
