The Cleveland Browns spent two draft picks on young signal-callers in the 2025 NFL Draft, as the team used a third-round pick on Dillon Gabriel and a fifth-round selection on Shedeur Sanders, Gabriel and Sanders have promise, and one of them could develop into the quarterback of the future for Cleveland.

However, with the Browns having an incredibly crowded quarterback room, both players are in a heated competition to win the starting spot, along with Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco.

Deshaun Watson isn't expected to play in 2025 due to a torn Achilles' tendon.

Cleveland could be right back in the quarterback market next offseason, as Pickett and Flacco will be free agents and Gabriel and Sanders may underwhelm.

College Football Network's Max Dorsey believes the Browns will be picking high in the 2026 NFL Draft and will use their premium selection in Round 1 on Clemson signal-caller Cade Klubnik.

"Its only May, and to me, its clear that Cade Klubnik is the best quarterback in next years class.

He made a big leap in the 2024 season.

Klubniks footwork was better, he had better composure in the pocket, and he truly looked like he was in complete control of Clemsons offense last season.

I expect him to take an even bigger leap in 2025 and be the No.

1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft," Dorsey wrote.

Klubnik had a breakout 2024 campaign, as he tossed 36 touchdowns to just six interceptions and also added seven scores on the ground.

He led Clemson to a 10-4 record and an appearance in the College Football Playoff.

Though he has only put together one season of elite production in college, Klubnik has the potential to be a franchise quarterback at the next level.

The Texas native has an exciting dual-threat skillset and has greatly improved as a passer since his freshman year in 2022.

The Browns need some excitement at quarterback moving forward.

Gabriel or Sanders could provide that, but if they don't, Cleveland could select Klubnik in next year's draft and start a new era of football in Northeast Ohio..
