Sixers draft history: Lavoy Allen added in second round of 2011

With the NBA draft right around the corner, now is the time to look at some past drafts and see what the Philadelphia 76ers have done in their history.
The Sixers have selected some big-time players in the past who have become an important part of the fabric of the franchise's history.This next edition focuses on the second round of the 2011 draft when the Sixers selected big man Lavoy Allen out of Temple.
The Morrisville, PA native brought his rough and tough style to the City of Brotherly Love and was able to produce some solid numbers averaging 4.1 points and 4.2 rebounds as a rookie.In the 2012 playoffs, Allen played a key role for the Sixers with his defense against Boston Celtics star Kevin Garnett in Round 2 which allowed the 8 seed Sixers to push that Celtics team to a Game 7.Allen spent 2.5 seasons in Philadelphia before he was traded to the Indiana Pacers along with Evan Turner.
He then spent 3.5 more seasons with the Pacers before his career ended after the 2016-17 season.
