The Toronto Blue Jays just accomplished something that hasn't been done since the 19th century.

They beat the Athletics on Friday, 12-0, to complete the feat.

The wild stat: The Blue Jays have been involved in three 12-run (or more) shutouts in a single calendar month.

They beat the Padres 14-0 on May 21.

Then they lost to the Rays 13-0 earlier this week before bashing the A's.

The only other two teams to ever do this were the 1899 Phillies and the 1886 Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers.

Ironically, those Phillies were 3-0 in their games, while the Trolley Dodgers were 0-3.

The Blue Jays split up the fun with their two wins and one loss.

In the AL East, the Yankees currently lead at 35-20.

The Rays are 29-27, and the Blue Jays slot in at 28-28.

Toronto continues its four-game set with the A's for the next three days.

After a hot start to the season, the Athletics have struggled, and it's a weekend the Blue Jays have to take advantage of to get back in the division race.
