Michigan State football will possess the top tight ends duo in the Big Ten this season, according to one college football analyst.Tony Liebert of Bring Me The News put out a rankings list of the top tight end duos in the Big Ten, and somewhat surprisingly Michigan State was at the top of his list.

Liebert put Jack Velling and Michael Masunas in a class of their own labeled "proven stud."Velling was a big-time addition via the transfer portal last offseason, following head coach Jonathan Smith from Oregon State to Michigan State.

Velling, however, had a pretty disappointing season (compared to preseason expectations), finishing the year with 36 receptions for 411 yards and one touchdown.

He ranked third on the Spartans in receptions and receiving yards behind only wide receivers Nick Marsh and Montorie Foster Jr.Masunas was off to a promising start last year before he was knocked out with a season-ending injury after only four games.

He ended the season with four receptions for 37 yards in the four games he played in last season. As I noted earlier in this post, I'm pretty surprised to see Michigan State ranked at the top of this list from Liebert.

I anticipate this to be a strength on the Spartans' roster this season, but wouldn't have expected them to rank first in the Big Ten.Check out the complete rankings from Liebert in the post below:TIERS: Ranking every Big Ten TE duo heading into the 2025 season.Proven stud1.
