Ex-Dolphins player Randy Crowder, father of ex-linebacker Channing Crowder, dies

Former Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Randy Crowder, the father of former Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder, has died, the team announced Wednesday .
He was 72.
Randy was drafted by the Dolphins in the sixth round in 1974 out of Penn State.
He spent his first three seasons with the Dolphins, and totaled 25 starts in 39 games with 12.5 sacks.
He spent his final three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and totaled 10 starts in 32 games with 6.5 sacks.
For his career, Randy had 35 starts in 71 games and 19.0 sacks.
We are saddened by the passing of former Dolphins player Randy Crowder, who played for the team from 1974-1976, the Dolphins wrote on a social media post .
Channing was drafted by the Dolphins in the third round in 2005 out of Florida.
Channing spent his entire six-year NFL career with the Dolphins totaling 74 starts in 82 games and 343 tackles.
Channing is a popular podcast host on The Pivot with former NFL players Ryan Clark and Fred Taylor, and radio show personality on WQAMs Hochman and Crowder Show on weekday afternoons from 2-6 p.m.
Channing and Randy are among three father-son duos to play for the Dolphins along with quarterbacks Bob (1967-80) and Brian Griese (2003) and linebacker Rudy Barber (1968) and his son, running back Kantroy Barber (1999).
