Seahawks sign former North Carolina WR

The Seattle Seahawks hosted their 2025 NFL draft class and undrafted free agents at rookie minicamp.

General manager John Schneider also kept his eyes peeled on rookie minicamps around the league.

Each team hosted a bunch of tryout players.

One of them was impressive enough to earn a contract.

The Seahawks are signing former North Carolina wide receiver Nate McCollum, who attended camp with the New York Giants.The Seahawks waived interior offensive lineman Sala Aumavae-Laulu to make room on the 90-man roster.

The news was confirmed on social media by ESPN reporter Brady Henderson.The Seahawks announced they've signed WR Nate McCollum, an undrafted free agent from North Carolina who took part in rookie camp with the Giants earlier this month.

He then transferred to North Carolina and spent his final two campaigns (2023-24) with the Tar Heels.

McCollum was far more productive as a receiver in 2023 (44-469-1) than he was in 2024 (24-274-0).McCollum is listed at an undersized 5-foot-9 and 185 pounds on North Carolina's website.

The speedy playmaker has experience on special teams, returning 17 kickoffs for 448 yards in 2024.
