Report: Darrion Williams visits Big 12 program after NBA draft decision

Texas Tech Red Raiders junior Darrion Williams reportedly withdrew his name from the 2025 NBA draft on Tuesday, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.Williams entered the transfer portal last month after two seasons at Texas Tech while also declaring for the draft.
He was among the players invited to the combine last week, taking part in on-court drills and scrimmages in Chicago, Illinois.
He also worked out with Milwaukee and Sacramento.The 22-year-old is now considered one of the top players in the transfer portal.
He reportedly visited Kansas on Tuesday after forgoing the draft and is also receiving interest from programs like Auburn, BYU, NC State and Ohio State, among others.Sources: Darrion Williams has officially withdrawn from the 2025 NBA Draft.Williams who averaged 15.1 PPG, 5.5 RPG, and 3.6 APG last season at Texas Tech is currently in the transfer portal.

He registered nine 20-point games, including a season-high 28 points on March 22 in the NCAA Tournament.The 6-foot-6 forward led the Red Raiders to their first Elite Eight appearance since 2019, averaging 21 points and 7.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists.
He had several clutch plays throughout the tournament, including the go-ahead shot in an overtime win over Arkansas on March 27.Williams was projected to be a mid-to-late second-round pick, which likely factored into his decision to return to college basketball.
