Los Angeles Rams can breathe easier as major obstacle in their way of major trade is now out of their way

The Los Angeles Rams have long been rumored to make a splash move to bring Jalen Ramsey back to Los Angeles, reuniting the team with one of their most important players of the last decade.
Last week, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that the Miami Dolphins were engaged with trade talks with several teams for Ramsey.
Fowler named the Rams, Dallas Cowboys, and Washington Commanders as teams interested in acquiring Ramsey.
However, former Cowboys scout and insider Bryan Broaddus threw some cold water on the Cowboys' interest in acquiring Ramsey in a bold trade.
Hearing late last night that the Jalen Ramsey news was not accurate according to a couple of folks I got to talk to.
Dont think I was getting steered the wrong way.
Additionally, the Washington Commanders have some pretty slim draft capital in the 2026 NFL Draft after their trade for Laremy Tunsil.
That team is already bloated with major contracts, including one for a cornerback in Marshon Lattimore that they traded for mid-season.
For a team that traded for Lattimore, signed Jonathan Jones , and drafted Trey Amos in the second round to add to a unit that returned stud rookie Mike Sainristil, adding Ramsey doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.
Theoretically, they still could obviously, but that seems like a lot of investment into the secondary in one offseason.
To me, the news of other teams' interest feels like a gambit (perhaps a desperate one) from the Dolphins to drive up Ramsey's price.
The Rams have made it clear that they want Ramsey back, but they won't pay a premium for him.
This is still a worthwhile trade for the Rams.
While Ramsey isn't the clear number-one cornerback in the NFL anymore, he is still a top-15 player (at least) at the position and would radically transform the Rams' secondary.
His playmaking instincts, leadership, and awareness are something Los Angeles desperately needs in their secondary.
