Sixers draft history: Kyle Korver acquired from the Nets in 2003

With the NBA draft right around the corner, now is the time to look at some past drafts and see what the Philadelphia 76ers have done in their history.

The Sixers have selected some big-time players in the past who have become an important part of the fabric of the franchise's history.This next edition turns to the 2003 draft when the Sixers made a draft night deal to acquire Kyle Korver from the then-New Jersey Nets.

The No.

51 pick of the 2003 draft, Korver was selected by the Nets before the Sixers sent some cash considerations to acquire the sharpshooter's rights.In his rookie season, Korver didn't play much, but he was a playoff starter for Philadelphia in 2005.

He averaged 11.5 points and 4.6 rebounds along with 2.2 assists while shooting 40.5% from deep in the 2004-05 season which then led to him starting all five games for the Sixers in the Round 1 loss to the then defending champion Detroit Pistons.

All in all, Korver averaged 10.5 points and 3.2 rebounds while shooting 40.9% from deep across 4-plus seasons.

He is 4th all-time in Sixers history with 661 made 3-pointers.Korver ended up playing 17 years in the league.

Along with the Sixers, he played for the Utah Jazz, the Atlanta Hawks, the Chicago Bulls, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Milwaukee Bucks.

He was a key part of two Cavs teams that reached the finals in 2017 and 2018.
