8 most intriguing Colts games on 2025 NFL schedule | Sporting News

The schedule for the 2025 NFL season was released on Wednesday night.
So what does that mean for the Indianapolis Colts ? To no surprise, they werent awarded a lot of time in front of a national audience because of their performance from last year.
The league still gave Indianapolis an international game and a late-season primetime matchup.
The biggest difference in comparison to the 2025 schedule was instead of getting a lot of 1:00 p.m.
ET kickoffs, five games on this years schedule are slotted for the late-afternoon slates.
After taking a look at the 17-game schedule, here are eight games for the Colts that we are looking forward to: Colts 2025 schedule Week 1: vs.
Miami Dolphins The season opener is typically an exciting time for all NFL fans, but for Colts fans, the excitement has quickly faded over the last 12 years.
The last time Indianapolis won a season opener was against the then-known Oakland Raiders in 2013.
This matchup also has had some juice added to it since the schedule release.
The Colts had to delete their schedule release video due to rights issues with Microsoft, but also an insensitive clip involving Tyreek Hill.
Hill claimed he found it funny , but one would think he now has some extra motivation when he suits up in Week 1.
Week 3: at Tennessee Titans This will be the first meeting with one of their division rivals after sweeping the Titans in 2025.
The reason we are excited about this contest is that it will be the first look in this series at the 2025 No.
1 overall pick Cam Ward.
Week 6: vs Arizona Cardinals This matchup not only features the son of Colts legend Marvin Harrison, but it will also be the first meeting between former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen and defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon from their Super Bowl run from the 2022 season.
Week 10: vs Atlanta Falcons In Week 10 the Colts take a trip overseas to Berlin, Germany, to host the Falcons in Olympic Stadium.
Indianapolis won its last trip to Germany over the New England Patriots , and the countrys crowd provides an electric atmosphere.
It will be the first-ever NFL game to take place in Berlin.
Week 12: at Kansas City Chiefs If Indianapolis can handle its business in the first half of the schedule, then this matchup will be its litmus test of the season.
They face the AFC winner from the past three seasons, but something to note is that Patrick Mahomes has yet to beat the Colts in the regular season across their two matchups.
Week 14: at Jacksonville Jaguars Is this the season the Colts finally win in Duval County? The last time they left Jacksonville with a victory was in 2014, which also happens to be the last time they won the AFC South.
This will also be the first look in the series at the No.
2 overall pick, Travis Hunter.
It will be interesting to see how the Jags are monitoring the dual-threats snaps at this point of the season.
Week 16: vs San Francisco 49ers This is a Monday night football matchup at home for the Colts, which means that they finally get to utilize their Indiana Nights uniforms when the sun isnt out.
That is assuming that this contest doesnt get flexed out.
Outside of the primetime game and the uniforms, this will be a revenge game for new Colt cornerback Charvarius Ward.
Week 18: at Houston Texans Indianapolis will wrap up the 2025 season on the road against the Texans.
By the time this game arrives, there will be questions answered for the future of the Colts.
Is the AFC South title on the line, and the contest gets flexed to Sunday Night Football? Has Anthony Richardson arrived, or has Daniel Jones salvaged his career? Or is it the worst case? They are out of playoff contention, which would mean Chris Ballard and Shane Steichens job security would be in doubt, if Jim Irsay hasnt already made an in-season decision on his general manager and head coach.
