The Texas quarterback was joined by teammates Anthony Hill Jr.
(No.

On3's Clark Brooks expects big things from Manning and believes the quarterback will not follow the checkdown mold of past Sarkisian gunslingers.
Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning (16).
Brett Davis-Imagn Images You might have heard about this kid," Brooks said.
"Well, like many, we at On3 expect big things out of Manning 3.0.
In previous years, labeling a Sarkisian QB as a Checkdown Charlie or Offensive Executive would be a given.
But in this case, it would be downright reprehensible." Ewers started the first two games of the season for Texas before suffering an oblique injury in Week 2 against the Michigan Wolverines.
Ewers suited up in the following game versus UTSA, but was forced to exit due to the oblique injury.
Manning entered and delivered, with 223 passing yards, five total touchdowns and 53 rushing yards.
He started the next two games against UL Monroe and the Mississippi State Bulldogs while Ewers recovered.
Texas won both games under Manning, and he threw for a combined 583 passing yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.
Texas lost weapons for Manning to throw to via the 2025 NFL Draft.
Receiving threats like Isaiah Bond, Matthew Golden and Gunnar Helm are now gone.
The Longhorns have looked to the portal to retool their passing game, bringing in former Stanford Cardinal receiver Emmett Mosley and former California Golden Bears tight end Jack Endries from the transfer portal.
Texas has also found a backup quarterback for Manning through the portal in Troy transfer Matthew Caldwell.
