NBA analyst shares major concern for Knicks prior to Game 6 vs. Celtics: ‘They better find a way’ | Sporting News

The Boston Celtics handled the New York Knicks in stunning fashion Wednesday night, as Derrick White and Jaylen Brown combined for 60 points and 10 hits from three-point range in Boston's dominant 127-102 victory to push their Eastern Conference Semi-Finals series to a Game 6.
As both clubs travel back to Madison Square Garden for the highly-anticipated battle, the basketball world's faith in the Celtics continues to grow, even in the wake of Jayson Tatum's demoralizing Achilles injury sustained during Game 4 on Monday night.
Specifically, one of sports media's most notable Knicks supporters recently expressed his concerns and newly-developed anxiousness with regard to the team's upcoming Game 6 outing, citing Boston's incredible shooting prowess and ball movement displayed in their Game 5 victory without their 6-time All-Star as key points.
"You can't lose Game 6," ESPN's Stephen A.
Smith shared during a Thursday morning episode of First Take.
"You better find a way (to win Game 6), but I'm not sure they're going to." "What really, really concerns me is that without Jayson Tatum, I haven't seen the Boston Celtics move the basketball like that in two years." Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp "I'm talking about having your spacing, making sure you're sharing and distributing the basketball, having faith in your teammates." "I mean, everywhere you turn, cats were shooting.
And if they shoot the basketball like that, sharing it like that (in Game 6), the Knicks are going to have a problem." Boston's lights-out three-point shooting and incredible defensive effort helped the group to separate from New York in the second half of Game 5, as they held the Knicks to just 29.4% accuracy from the field in the final two frames while connecting on 41.0% of their looks from long-range.
The Knicks' superstar scoring guard Jalen Brunson was also forced to take a seat on the bench for a good chunk of the contest due to foul trouble, with the 2-time All-Star and 2024 Clutch Player of the Year eventually fouling out with 7:19 remaining in the fourth quarter.
In 32 minutes of work, Brunson finished with a subpar (for his standards) 22-point night on 41.2% shooting from the floor.
If the Celtics are looking to force a Game 7 at home against New York, their free-flowing offensive philosophy and fast-paced ball movement will be paramount to their success.
With a three-point percentage north of 40.0% for the game and a respectable defensive effort, the team will undoubtedly have a chance at extending the series and keeping their hopes of a championship repeat alive.
