USC lands four-star edge rusher Shaun Scott

On Friday, USC lost a member of its top-ranked 2026 recruiting class when three-star wide receiver Kohen Brown decommitted.
On Sunday, however, the Trojans came right back, adding four-star edge rusher Shaun Scott to the class.Scott is a product of Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, which has produced a pipeline of USC players dating back to legendary quarterback Matt Leinart 25 years ago.
On3 Consensus ranks him as the No.
340 overall player and the No.
37 edge rusher in the class of 2026."USC has been on top for a couple of months now, Scott told On3.
I took some visits and I wanted to make sure before I committed.
The new [defensive] staff came in and made me feel like a priority, I knew I was high on their board and I felt special.
USC made me feel like a top guy and that is where I want to be."Scott mentioned in particular that USC linebackers coach Rob Ryan played a big role in his recruitment.
The Trojans made headlines back in January when they hired Ryana longtime NFL defensive coordinatorto fill the role vacated by Matt Entz following his departure to become the head coach at Fresno State.
