49ers get huge injury update on WR Deebo Samuel

Deebo Samuel s stint on the sidelines isnt expected to last for much longer.

The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver reportedly plans to play Sunday in his teams Week 4 contest against the New England Patriots at Levis Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reported the news late Saturday.

Samuel suffered a calf strain in the second half of the 49ers Week 2 loss against the Minnesota Vikings.

The 2021 Pro Bowler was quickly ruled out for Week 3 and was initially expected to miss at least a few weeks.

The All-Pro has 13 catches for 164 yards and a rushing touchdown in two games this season.

With the 49ers scuffling to a 1-2 record to start the season, the team needs all the help it can get to regain its status as a Super Bowl contender.

In two games this season, Samuel has tallied 13 catches for 164 yards.
