Dodgers Get Trade Update on Nolan Arenado
It seems like only a matter of time before the St.
Louis Cardinals make a decision on Nolan Arenado.
From the Cardinals' perspective, there isn't much of a reason to keep him around unless they believe they have an opportunity to win the National League Central.
As things stand right now, and with the injuries the Chicago Cubs have dealt with, the Cardinals are only three games out and are 7-3 over their last 10 games.
Let's remember now, the Cardinals are one of the marquee organizations in Major League Baseball, and have done nothing but win for much of the past decade.Sure, they aren't as talented as they typically are, but there are some studs on this Cardinals roster, and if things break their way and they stay healthy, they might be a team to watch out for.

Arenado has a no-trade clause, but hed have an opportunity to return to California if he were traded to the Dodgers, and recent reports have suggested that he'd be interested in waiving that no-trade clause to do just that.Speaking with MLB executives, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com revealed that he was among the top four players voted to most likely be traded by this deadline.
While that doesn't guarantee anything, it's a good sign for the Dodgers if they want him.Arenado has been better this season than he was a year ago, but much of that is due to his somewhat hot start.
He's started to struggle again in recent weeks, and his power numbers haven't been great, hitting just three home runs and posting a 107 OPS+, but this is Nolan Arenado at the end of the day.
If he is available and the Dodgers can grab them, theyll likely try.Related: Two-Time Dodgers All-Star Breaks Silence on Nolan Arenado Trade Rumors.
