The Detroit Tigers continued to roll on May 8, sweeping a doubleheader with the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.The two victories made it four straight for the American League-leading Tigers, who have now won seven of their last eight.After winning all three games in Colorado this week, Detroit has a record of 25-13.

They did so on June 1, 2022, per the baseball expert.By the way, these weren't just 10-plus run victories for Detroit.

They were absolute blowouts.The Tigers won the opener over the Rockies by a score of 10-2, then followed that up with an 11-1 thrashing later that evening.

Although both starting pitchers (Casey Mize and Keider Montero) did very well for Detroit, the main bats that contributed to the double-digit doubleheader record were first baseman Spencer Torkelson and second baseman/DH Gleyber Torres.Torkelon finished the two-game demolition with 5 hits, 2 runs scored, and a total of 4 RBI.

Torres' stat line was similar, with 3 hits, 2 runs scored and 4 RBI.The most impressive part about the 21-run day was that the Tigers only needed one home run to do it.
