Shedeur Gifted Advice from Bucs Super Bowl Hero
There have been plenty of NFL Draft success stories for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the organization's history.
For instance, in a high-profile way? Hall-of-Fame cornerback Ronde Barber was a third-round pick by the team out of Virginia before becoming one of the best players at his position over his 16-year career.
Another one of those late-round steals happens to be former fourth-round pick Dexter Jackson.
The former Buccaneers safety and Super Bowl XXXVII Champion knows what it is like to have to wait days to have your name called.
And that's why he had a message for Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders via the Roto Grinders' Ben Mendelowitz show.
"I was supposed to be drafted a lot higher than where I ended up.
I hope Sanders does what I did and uses it for fuel.
He should have a chip on his shoulder, and he should write down the name of every quarterback who went ahead of him and put that list on the back of his bedroom door," Jackson said.
"Thats what I did so the list was the first thing I saw when I woke up and the last thing I saw before I slept.
Every time I woke up, my first thought was to outwork those guys every day."While Jackson never made a Pro Bowl, he did carve out a strong career with the Buccaneers, Cardinals, and Bengals.
Sanders, like Jackson, could have easily gone much earlier in the 2025 draft than he eventually did.
...
as he slipped from the first-round projections to the Cleveland Browns in Round 5.While the argument surrounding his fall remains hotly contested, Sanders will now try to get the Browns back to their winning ways.
...
after first just trying to make the team. And in the case of the Buccaneers, they have his brother Shilo here as a UDFA to hope and see if they can get anything out of the other son of Deion Sanders ...
with Shilo surely needing the gift of encouragement from the likes of Jackson here as well.Related: Keenan Allen Signing Linked to Bucs RivalRelated: Mike Evans Projection Means Bucs Bad News.
