In the end, nothing changed he stayed in New York and remained the slugger for the Mets.Alonso signed a two-year, $54 million contract that includes an opt-out after this season.

So far, the Mets are hoping their first baseman doesnt take it because hes been red-hot.Through 32 games, Alonso is hitting .342.
