Colorado Buffaloes Land Dazzling Kansas State Freshman From Transfer Portal

Former Kansas State Wildcats safety Noah King capped a massive haul of transfer portal talent for the Colorado Buffaloes on Wednesday.
King committed to Colorado after entering the portal as a freshman on April 17.
The former consensus four-star prospect garnered offers from the Miami Hurricanes, West Virginia Mountaineers and Mississippi State Bulldogs before On3's Hayes Fawcett reported the defensive back's allegiance to coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes.
King was the fourth portal pickup by Colorado on Wednesday, joining safety John Slaughter, offensive tackle Larry Johnson III and running back DeKalon Taylor.
The Buffs have now added 10 transfers this spring, including four new members of the secondary.
Slaughter, former Illinois State Redbirds cornerback Teon Parks and Auburn Tigers safety Terrance Love will join the secondary with King for this fall.
All four defensive backs have plenty of time left to earn their collegiate stripes, with King having an entire four-year career ahead of him.
Recruiting sites listed King as one of the best remaining assets in the portal.
He was ranked the No.

King was the 26th commit to the Buffaloes this offseason and the third four-star transfer.
King totaled 41 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack, one interception and four pass breakups as a senior at Hamilton.
The 6-2, 200-pound defensive back has high upside and helps Coach Sanders fill out remaining concerns in the secondary.
After the spring game last month, the laundry list of preferred portal additions said by "Coach Prime" is rounding out nicely.
Nevertheless, the Buffs are seldom done adding available talent to the fold.
Colorado lost a wave of defensive backs after last season, mainly its Chuck Bednarik Award winner, Travis Hunter.
Safeties Shilo Sanders and Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig are also off to the NFL as undrafted free agent signees.
As the portal gave to Colorado, it took from the positions that King will compete in.
Standout freshman corner Colton Hood entered the portal last week, following the transfer of his brother, running back Brandon Hood.
Additionally, solid depth safety Savion Riley departed elsewhere just before the spring game.
The Buffs also continue to look for defensive reinforcements in other spots.
BYU Cougars transfer linebacker Harrison Taggart included Colorado in his three finalist schools King's spot on KSU's depth chart may not have been secure, so his transfer to Boulder sparks intrigue on what the Buffs can do differently to incorporate him.
He'll take time to find reps over the secondary's more experienced options, but King has the potential to quickly break out, just as Hood did in 2024..
