Canadiens Send Parting Message to Alex Ovechkin, Capitals After Series
The Washington Capitals were simply too good for the Montreal Canadiens, who saw their 2024-25 NHL season end Wednesday night following a 4-1 loss to Alex Ovechkin and the Caps at Capital One Arena in Washington.
When it was all said and done on the ice after five games in this first-round series, the Canadiens were classy enough to send a short but meaningful message to their playoff conquerors via social media.

Ovechkin put the Caps on the board with a goal on the man advantage before Jakob Chychrun found the back of the net two minutes later.
Tom Wilson joined Washington's scoring party with a power-play goal in the second period.
