Former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders had his jersey retired over the weekend with his dad and coach, Deion Sanders, by his side.

Minus the fair bit of controversy and intrigue Deion Sanders brings to Boulder, some college football pundits are turned off by the Sanders' antics , much more so in how the Colorado Buffaloes opted to honor the projected ninth-overall NFL draft pick.

During an episode of "See Ball Get Ball" with David Pollack and Brent Rollins, Pollack said Shedeur Sanders' honor dumbfounded him despite acknowledging how much of a program-changing piece Shedeur Sanders would eventually become.

"I don't understand this at all," Pollack said.

"I'm going to throw some names out to you, Brent.

"Joe Burrow, not retired.

Tim Tebow, not retired.

Cam Newton, not retired.

Jameis Winston, not retired.

Marcus Mariota, not retired.

I can go on and on and on, not retired.

Shedeur is 13-12 at Colorado.

Like, that's his record.

He wasn't an All-American in any year.

I don't get it." Although Shedeur Sanders may not have the accolades Pollack describes above, the quarterback has remained himself when visiting with NFL teams.

This included his visit to the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this month.

"When I go visit these coaches and when I go to all these different franchises, I ask them truly what I think and how I feel," Shedeur Sanders told "The Outsiders" .

"Some get offended, some like it, some don't.

Make some people uncomfortable, some people invite that.

They know what type of person and what type of player they're gonna get out of me, so I just have to make sure, you know, what type of culture or what type of dynamic I'm going to have with them also." For now, only time will tell..
