Amaree Abram to visit Tennessee basketball as Louisiana Tech transfer guard

Amaree Abram is visiting Tennessee basketball on Monday, the Louisiana Tech transfer told Knox News.
The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 12.3 points and shot 37.7% on 3-pointers at Louisiana Tech last season.
He started his career at Ole Miss then transferred to Georgia Tech before landing at Louisiana Tech.
He is averaging 9.3 points and shooting 35.9% from three in 75 career games.The Vols are currently looking to add depth on the perimeter, especially at the shooting guard position.Tennessee has signed two players out of the transfer portal in former Maryland guard Ja'Kobi Gillespie and former Vanderbilt forward Jaylen Carey.The 6-1 Gillespie averaged 14.7 points and 4.8 assists for the Terrapins and earned third-team All-Big Ten honors.
The former star at Greeneville High School shot 40.7% on 3-pointers, making 87 to help Maryland reach the Sweet 16.Gillespie played his first two seasons at Belmont before transferring to Maryland.
He averaged 12.9 points and 3.7 assists in two seasons at Belmont.

He averaged 9.5 points and 6.2 rebounds in SEC play.The 6-8, 265-pound Carey began his career at James Madison University under coach Mark Byington, whom he followed to Vanderbilt.
Carey played in all 36 games off the bench as a freshman, averaging 7.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in 14.9 minutes.
He shot 66.9% from the field and 30% from 3-point range.UT has signed four players in the 2025 recruiting class.The Vols have signed four players in the 2025 class, including five-star Nate Ament.
Ament is the highest-ranked recruit in program history as the No.
4 recruit nationally.
Tennessee signed four-star forward DeWayne Brown II and four-star guard Amari Evans in November.
