It's one of the boldest plays in all of sport: The straight steal of home.

Boston Red Sox superstar Jarren Duran went for it on Saturday in Cleveland, and he slid past the catcher's tag safely.

It's the first Boston straight steal of home since Jacoby Ellsbury did it exactly 16 years before, on April 26, 2009.

Duran told reporters after the game that he saw Cleveland's Doug Nikhazy choose to pitch from the windup instead of the stretch.

Since Nikhazy is a lefty, his back was to Duran as he went into his motion.

We'll have to see if he tries it again sometime given his success on this occasion.

Regardless, it's a special day in Duran's career and in this still-early season for the Red Sox.
