An important update was revealed by Scott Arniel regarding the status of both Nikolaj Ehlers and Gabriel Vilardi for the team's upcoming game against the Blues.

It appears that Gabriel Vilardi will be traveling with the Winnipeg Jets for their next road game against St.

Louis, which is a start in the rebuild of his return to action .

The skilled winger has been sidelined from play with an upper-body injury but skated with his teammates again on Wednesday, wearing a yellow non-contact jersey.

While he is not yet cleared for full contact, being on the travel list is a positive.

Jets head coach Scott Arniel was the one who confirmed that Vilardi will travel with the team to Missouri.

The Jets are scheduled to face the St.

Louis Blues in Game 3 of their first-round Western Conference playoff series.

Winnipeg holds a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series, with Game 3 on Thursday evening and Game 4 on Sunday.

While the positive news was that Vilardi was recovering, not all that came out of the Jets' camp was sweet.

The news on Ehlers is not as positive as Vilardi's Arniel delivered the news that fellow winger Nikolaj Ehlers, who is battling a lower-body injury, would not be making the trip, which is definitely a blow to the team and fans who were hoping for his return.

Vilardi had a solid regular season prior to when he got injured, posting 27 goals and 61 points in 71 contests.

As his replacement, Alex Iafallo has been taking his place on the top line with Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele.
