Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane takes comfort in his professional preparation to ward off big game nerves

To become one of the best footballers in the world, you need to perform on the biggest of stages.
Sometimes, a season at one of the biggest clubs in the world can be defined by the 90 minutes of football you play in March, April or May as the domestic league draws to a close or the Champions League kicks into high gear.
That can be a lot of pressure for anybody, as it is for Harry Kane.
And the former Tottenham Hotspur striker admits to having nerves.
However, the Bayern Munich striker has a way of dealing with them: I think thats completely normal, to be nervous before important games, Englands captain said in a recent interview with goal.com, as captured by @iMiaSanMia .
For me, building up to a big game, its just making sure Ive prepared well doing everything both on the training pitch and off the pitch, whether it is recovery or eating well.
I feel like if you take care of all those things, then you can go into the game with a clear mind and just use those nerves as a good feeling to go out there and perform understanding that its normal and it just means that you care about the situation.
Thats what I try and do preparation is the most important thing so try and take advantage of it.
Yeah, that is a good way to approach life.
If you prepared well, you put yourself in the best position to succeed and if you still do not succeed, you are not left with the gnawing feeling that you could have done more.
That cannot always apply to footballers, especially ones with as much pressure on them as ol Harry does, but it certainly helps.
