WNBA Draft pick lands in same city as NFL star brother as parents 'thrilled'

With the 26th pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft where Paige Bueckers unsurprisingly went first overal l the Seattle Storm brought Kansas State guard Serena Sundell a little closer to family.
Not her extended family: the 22-year-old hails from Maryville, Missouri.
However, she will now find herself in the same city as her football-playing brother.
Jalen Sundell, an offensive tackle, plays all across the line for the Seattle Seahawks .
When asked if the destination works well, Serena Sundell admitted, I would say so, yes.
My parents are thrilled, Im thrilled.
Itll be perfect.
Sundell was one of the best pure passers in the class, having led the NCAA in assists a season ago for Kansas State to earn an All-American honorable mention.
Could she break Caitlin Clark's rookie assist record next season ? Sundell also contributed 12.7 points on 47.4 percent shooting and 4.2 rebounds a night for the Wildcats to earn her second consecutive spot on the First-team All-Big 12 team.
The 6-foot-5 guard will have her work cut out to make the team next season, let alone find playing time.
The Storm relies on Skylar Diggins-Smith for most ball distribution, as the veteran ranks 11th for assists in WNBA history.
Sundell will likely compete with 2025 first-round pick Nika Muhl for the backup point guard job.
The team is facing a bit of an overhaul, even after finishing 25-15 to reach the playoffs a season ago.
Seattle traded franchise icon Jewell Lloyd in a three-team swap to the Las Vegas Aces in return for the second pick in the draft.

She might be the league's answer to Victor Wembanyama.
Jalen Sundell played 12 times for the Seahawks a season ago despite making the team out of North Dakota State as an undrafted free agent.
I think thats just an incredible story," his sister said of Jalen.
"All you need is one opportunity.
Go and make the most of it.
The three-time FCS Champion also drew praise from Seattle's general manager, John Schneider, at the annual league ownership meetings, putting him in a good position to earn further playing time this year.
"He can play several different positions," Schneider said of his young offensive tackle." The staff really likes him.
Hes smart, tough, reliable." The Seahawks will look a little different in 2025 with starting quarterback Geno Smith now on the Las Vegas Raiders Sam Darnold will be the team's new go-to man under center..
