'Today’s Not About Me;' Milwaukee Brewers Rookie Logan Henderson Makes Powerful Proclamation After Stellar Debut

The Milwaukee Brewers and Easter have been closely linked ever since 1987.
As any long-time fan can tell it, Rob Deer hit one of the most famous walk-off home runs in franchise history on the holiday.
That win helped the Brewers improve to 12-0 to start that particular campaign, and has been shown on television broadcasts every year on the holiday since even younger fans can remember.
But Easter of 2025 may go down as one that is just as memorable.
During their 14-1 victory over the Athletics , the Brewers set a franchise record for stolen bases in an inning by swiping six bags in their half of the first.
Additionally, Milwaukee became the first team since MLB reorganized divisions in 1969 to steal nine bases in a game.
Milwaukee Brewers Rookie Logan Henderson Had the 3rd Best Major League Debut in Franchise History Not lost in the midst of Milwaukees incredible day on the base paths was the impressive Major League debut of right-handed pitcher Logan Henderson .
With the Brewers in dire need of their young prospects to step up amid the flurry of injuries their veterans have sustained, Henderson became just the latest Milwaukee pitcher to make his first Big League start in 2025.
And what a start it was! Henderson pitched six complete innings, allowed three hits, one walk, one run (earned), and struck out nine.
He struck out the final three hitters he faced in the sixth inning, ending his day with 83 pitches.
His nine strikeouts are tied for the third-most by a Brewers pitcher in his Major League debut.
Current ace Freddy Peralta holds the record with 13, and Steve Woodard had 12.
Nick Neugebauer is the only other pitcher in franchise history to have as many as nine punchouts in his first ever Big League start.
Milwaukee Brewers Pitcher Logan Henderson Was at Peace Throughout his six innings of work, Henderson was cool and collected on the mound, working quickly and efficiently.
Afterwards, he was asked by reporters why he was able to be so calm during the biggest game of his life up to this point.
He responded , To be real, todays Easter and todays not about me.
I just felt really at peace.
Easter, of course, is the holiday in which Christian celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Obviously, Henderson found solid ground in this fact and was able to keep the moment of his first Major League start from becoming too big for him.
If he continues pitching like he did on Easter Sunday, he may be up in Milwaukee for a while.
Along with fellow rookie Chad Patrick, Henderson gives Brewers fans plenty to be optimistic about both in the present and in the future.
