After yesterdays high-scoring affair at Wrigley Field, the Arizona Diamondbacks will look to come back and get some payback after losing to the Chicago Cubs on Friday afternoon.

In what was an electric matchup yesterday, where the D-backs had 10 runs in one inning, they look to capitalize on that offensive energy to even up the series today at The Friendly Confines.

Seems like the D-Backs will shake things up a bit, as Tim Tawa gets the start at shortstop, over the struggling Garrett Hampson.

Jake McCarthy will also take over for Lourdes Gurriel Jr.

who gets an off day.

Gallen is coming into this matchup with a 1-2 record and a 4.64 ERA in 21.1 innings pitched.

Gallen has been hot and cold to start the 2025 season.

In his first outing against Chicago, he gave up four earned runs in four innings, but also went 6.2 innings of shutout baseball against the Yankees.

He has pitched tremendously in the past at Wrigley Field, as in the last 19 innings he has pitched, Gallen has only given up a run.

Chicago will have Ben Brown on the mound today for the Cubs.

Brown is heading into Saturdays outing with a 5.09 ERA and a 2-1 record.

His start to the season was rough as he gave up 10 earned runs in the first 11.2 innings he pitched.

Although Brown turned it around, as in his last outing against the Dodgers, Brown went six scoreless innings with five strikeouts.

News surrounding the D-Backs bullpen: It seems like Joe Mantiply and Bryce Jarvis might be on their way to Triple A Reno for now.

The D-Backs are making moves to bolster their roster, after what has been a disastrous beginning to the season for some of the arms out of the Arizona bullpen.
