Lane Kiffin throws major shade at Miami’s $4.3 million decision to sign Carson Beck from Georgia | Sporting News

Carson Beck hasn't even played a down for the Miami Hurricanes yet, but the buzz surrounding his move from Georgia continues to grow and so does the scrutiny.
After transferring to Miami earlier this offseason, Beck entered his first season with the Hurricanes carrying high expectations and a hefty price tag .
According to On3, his NIL valuation is currently listed at $4.3 million a figure thats turned heads across the college football world, including Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin.
On a recent episode of The Pivot Podcast , Kiffin joined hosts Channing Crowder, Ryan Clark, and Fred Taylor to talk about the state of NIL in college football.
When the conversation turned toward big-money deals for quarterbacks, Crowder brought up Miamis payout for Beck.
Clark jumped in to confirm the amount $4.3 million citing On3s data.
That led to a blunt and slightly amused reaction from Kiffin.
Miami gave him $4.3 million? Kiffin said, clearly caught off guard.
Did they watch his game against us? Beck, while productive overall at Georgia, had one of his worst performances of the season in a 28-10 loss to Kiffins Rebels.
In that November game, he finished 20-for-31 for just 186 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception.

Now, that same quarterback is the centerpiece of Miamis 2025 campaign and reportedly one of the most expensive players in the country.
While Becks move to Coral Gables was viewed as a massive win for the Hurricanes especially after losing Cam Ward to the NFL not everyone is convinced the price matches the production.
And if anyone has receipts on Becks worst game? Its Lane Kiffin.
