David Adelman says Denver Nuggets have one of the all-time greats, and it’s not Nikola Jokic

Denver Nuggets interim head coach made another surprising comment about the team ahead of the 2025 playoffs.
For the first time since 2019, the Denver Nuggets will begin their NBA playoff journey without head coach Michael Malone on the sidelines .
Instead, David Adelman will fill in Malones shoes on an interim basis.
However, as things stand right now, Adelman hardly seems to have control over the team.
After all, Adelman admitted that he is fine even if Nikola Jokic wanted to be the teams coach .
Regardless, the interim coach also believes that the current Nuggets roster houses one of the all-time greats, and its not even Jokic.
David Adelman on Jamal Murray The Nuggets are all set to take on the Los Angeles Clippers in the opening round of the playoffs.
While Jokic is expected to be the teams best player, many fans will closely watch Jamal Murray .
Why? Well, Murray has proved throughout his career that hes one of the greatest playoff performers in the modern era.
Keeping that in mind, coach Adelman had huge praise for the 28-year-old after a recent practice session.
Hes born for it.
You cant really argue that.
The game-winners, the ability to play in the biggest games, and lift his game mentally.
He just has it, and some people do.
This is gonna be a tough series for him, they [Clippers] have a lot of people to throw at him.
I think the biggest thing for us, me, the staff, we have to help Jamal.
Because if we can get him free, we know what hes capable of and we need that secondary guy.
...
We know what Jamal is in the playoffs.
Hes one of the all-time greats.
You cant argue it.

After all, Murray has proven it over the course of his career.
Murray has averaged 18.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game for the Nuggets in the regular season.
But come playoff time, Murrays numbers shoot up to 24.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game.
On top of that, the 2023 NBA champions shooting also slightly improves in the postseason.
Keeping that in mind, coach Adelman needs to be smart with what rotations he puts Murray into for optimising his utilisation against the Clippers.
