Purdue basketball adds pivotal depth piece in addition to Oscar Cluff, Omer Mayer

WEST LAFAYETTE Matt Painter and his coaching staff weren't done constructing the Purdue basketball roster just yet.The Boilermakers, already adding center Oscar Cluff through the transfer portal and signing European star Omer Mayer, added another depth piece to what is one of college basketball's best teams entering next season on paper.Liam Murphy becomes the pivotal final piece for the Boilermakers in their quest to chase the program's first NCAA title.In three seasons of college basketball at two previous stops, Murphy averaged 11.3 points per game.
Murphy started 20 games for Columbia in 2021-22, averaging 12 points and 4.9 rebounds.
