The two teams traded the lead a few times, with the IronPigs taking a narrow 3-2 lead going into the later innings.
That changed in the bottom of the eighth when Genesis Cabrera loaded up the bases and Carlos Guzman let them all come home, and then some.
The Mets tallied 9 hits and drew 4 walks, so they had plenty of opportunities to score more, but it just wasnt to be.CF Jose Azocar: 1-4, R, 2B, BBLF Billy McKinney: 3-5, RBI1B Jon Singleton: 1-4, R, HR (1), RBI, KDH Joey Meneses: 2-3, 2 2B, BBSS Donovan Walton: 0-4, E (1)2B Niko Goodrum: 1-3, BB, SB (1)RF Gilberto Celestino: 1-3, BB, KC Jakson Reetz: 0-43B Luis De Los Santos: 0-4, K, E (1)RHP Jordan Geber: 2.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 2 KRHP Grant Hartwig: 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 KRHP Sean Reid-Foley: 1.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, L (0-2), BS (1)RHP Austin Warren: 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 KLHP Genesis Cabrera: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, WP, BLKRHP Carlos Guzman: 0.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 KDouble-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (1-0) POSTPONED (INCLEMENT WEATHER)High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (4-0)BROOKLYN 7, HUDSON VALLEY 3 (BOX)The Cyclones remain undefeated in 2025, topping the Yankees High-A affiliate 7-3.

Gordon, wearing number 99, made his professional debut and was decent, allowing a pair of runs over four-plus innings.
Eli Serrano had another strong performance at the plate, going 2-3 with a double and a homer, as did Christoper Suero, who added another double to his seasons total, and the bullpen looked solid, allowing a single run in 4.2 hitless innings.

LUCIE 4 (BOX)Finding themselves behind by a run, the St.
Lucie Mets came roaring back in the fourth inning, scoring three runs on RBI singles by Jeremy Rodriguez and Collin Houck.
They held on to the lead for a couple of innings, but things imploded in the bottom of the sixth.
Edgar Moreta started the inning off with a HBP and it didnt get better from there.
All in all, he allowed five more runs before manager Luis Rivera called on Josh Blum to get the last out of the inning.
St.
Lucie got a bunch of opportunities to regain the lead- including loading up the bases with no outs in the ninth inning!- but were unable to cash in.
Lost in the shuffle of bullpen blunders and LOBsters was a solid start by Will Watson.
The right-hander got 9 swing-and-misses on 31 swings, his slider accounting for most of those.
According to the preliminary post-game data, Wilson threw seven sliders, six of which elicited swings and five of which were swings-and-misses.
