The 2025 NFL Draft is right around the corner at the end of April, and teams are preparing to narrow down who they want to bring on to their team for next season and beyond.

However, with NFL Draft talk continuing to drag on, it has made room for some takes that might come off as outlandish and very bold.

Looking at this years draft, the projected top pick is Miami Hurricanes star quarterback Cam Ward, who looks as if hell be headed to Nashville to play for the Tennessee Titans next season and be their next quarterback of the future.

While there have also been cases for Colorados Shedeur Sanders to be the top quarterback, NFL legend and former All-Pro LeSean McCoy decided to bring a different point to the argument, one that hasnt settled well with fans online.

The Fox Sports analyst recently shared that hes not entirely sold on Ward, citing that his zero-star ranking out of high school is why he thinks Ward wont pan out in the NFL.

Despite Ward breaking NCAA records and becoming a Heisman finalist with the Hurricanes last season, McCoy believes that Wards past ranking from recruiting services in high school is enough to believe he wont pan out in the NFL.

A rather bold take from McCoy, given that there have been plenty of NFL stars that have either had to go the JUCO route or were unranked coming out of high school.

Those names include Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen, Cooper Kupp, and more.

While Ward was unranked coming out of high school, he got his start near his hometown with Incarnate Word, where he threw for 71 touchdowns across two seasons.

He went on to transfer to Washington State for two years before ending his career with the Hurricanes in 2024.

As is the case with any prospect, theres always a chance they dont pan out to what theyre expected.

However, citing that a high school recruiting ranking is the reason why doesnt really make too much sense.
