Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (3-5) SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 8, SYRACUSE 4 ( BOX ) Despite matching the RailRiders hit total, Syracuse lost by a healthy margin thanks to poor sequencing and a lack of extra-base thump.

Both Jon Singleton and Joe Menesses had solid days at Dh and 1B respectively, each tallying multiple hits.

Much of the rest of the offense was middling, however, and poor work in relief from every reliever - particularly Alfred Vega and Carlos Guzman in the ninth - sank the Mets hopes.

CF Jose Azocar : 1-3, R, 2 BB, K, SB (3) LF Billy McKinney : 0-5, K DH Jon Singleton : 2-3, 2 R, RBI, 2 BB 1B Joey Meneses : 3-5, 3 2B, 2 RBI 3B Luke Ritter : 0-5, 4 K SS Luis De Los Santos : 1-4, R, K RF Gilberto Celestino : 1-4 C Chris Williams : 0-3, BB, K 2B Diego A.

Roster Alert: RHP Luis Moreno assigned to Syracuse Mets from Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (1-1) NEW HAMPSHIRE 1, BINGHAMTON 0 ( BOX ) A paltry three hits for the Rumble Ponies, with two coming from Wyatt Young - not the kind of performance you want in game 2 of the season.

Nolan McLean, on the other hand, did have the kind of performance you want; eight strikeouts over four scoreless.

Expect him to see some MLB time this year if he racks up more outings like this.

SS Jett Williams : 1-3, BB, K CF Nick Morabito : 0-4, 3 K DH Ryan Clifford : 0-4, K 1B Nick Lorusso : 0-3, K C Kevin Parada : 0-3, K LF Alex Ramirez : 0-3, 3 K 3B William Lugo : 0-3 RF Omar De Los Santos : 0-3, 3 K, E (1) 2B Wyatt Young : 2-3 RHP Nolan McLean : 4.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 8 K LHP Felipe De La Cruz : 3.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, L (0-1) RHP Douglas Orellana : 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (3-0) BROOKLYN 4, WILMINGTON 0 ( BOX ) Get ready for a lot of fun games in Brooklyn for the next little while.

Sure, Boston Baro and Carson Benge didnt do a ton at the top of the lineup, but Eli Serrano and Chris Suero went deep.

And on the mound, four Brooklyn arms combined for 16 strikeouts, allowing two hits and a single walk.

Just a lot to be excited about here, Id argue this roster is the true first wave (with Sproat, McLean, and Tong more representative of initial positive returns) of the revamped Mets development system, and right now it looks real promising.

DH Boston Baro : 0-4, 2 K CF Carson Benge : 1-4 3B Jacob Reimer : 1-3, R, BB, 2 K RF Eli Serrano III : 2-3, 2 R, HR, RBI, BB C Chris Suero : 2-4, R, 2B, HR, 3 RBI 2B DAndre Smith : 0-2, 2 BB, SB (3) 1B Estarling Mercado : 0-3, BB, 2 K LF Troy Schreffler Jr.

Lucie Mets (1-2) JUPITER 6, ST.

LUCIE 0 ( BOX ) On its face, this game was pretty bad for the Mets.

They managed only three hits, didnt score, committed two errors, and loss.

Similarly, Matt Allans outing was, in a vacuum, unremarkable; hes a 23-year-old pitching in a short start who struck out five but didnt get out of the third while showing stuff that could be best described as fine .

But Matt Allan hasnt pitched in a professional game since 2019.

Hes not really been healthy since 2021.

Three surgeries later, a third round pick we were once lauding as the most creative draft move in team history is finally back on the mound, and not just in a feel good capacity.

Yes, the initial performance was not astounding, but its a promising beginning of what should be a fascinating story to follow all year.

CF Drew Gilbert : 0-4, K DH Marco Vargas : 2-2, BB 3B Jesus Baez : 0-3, BB 1B JT Schwartz : 0-1, K 1B Trace Willhoite : 0-2, 2 K C Daiverson Gutierrez : 1-4, 2 K LF A.J.
