Trevor Bauer shares 'interesting' reaction to New York Yankees pitching woes

Trevor Bauer has taken notice of the New York Yankees struggles on the mound to begin the 2025 campaign.
Through the first 14 games of the season, the Yankees injury-riddled rotation has done little to impress barring Max Fried, who boasts a sparkling 1.56 ERA with 21 strikeouts and three walks in 17.1 innings pitched.
The remaining four starters have struggled mightily out the gate, with Carlos Rodon (5.19 ERA), Marcus Stroman (11.57), Carlos Carrasco (7.71) and Will Warren (5.14) each posting ERAs of five or higher.
Taking to social media, Bauer poked fun at the Yankees pitchers less-than stellar performance to begin the year.
In response to one post highlighting the aforementioned players ERAs, he commented: Interesting stats.
This is hardly the first time that Bauer has seemingly insinuated that the Yankees could use a pitcher of his caliber.
Over the offseason, the 2020 NL Cy Young Award winner even offered to play for New York free of charge if they gave him a roster spot.
Back in March, ace Gerrit Cole was shut down for the entire 2025 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery .
American League Rookie of the Year Luis Gil, meanwhile, was sidelined for at least six weeks upon being diagnosed with a high-grade right lat strain.
Clarke Schmidt has yet to take the field this year while rehabbing from right rotator cuff tendinitis, but the righty is slated to make his season debut against the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday.
And most recently, Stroman was placed on the 15-day injured list with left knee inflammation following a nightmare start in which he surrendered five runs to the San Francisco Giants before even registering an out.
As the injuries began to pile up for the Yankees last month, Bauer wrote on X: "Need a Cy Young starting pitcher for $0? Unfortunately for Bauer, its unlikely that the Yankees will be offering him a contract any time soon.
The 34-year-old has been out of MLB since 2022 after league commissioner Rob Manfred handed him a 324 game suspension for violating the league's domestic violence and sexual assault policy.
A woman accused Bauer of physical and sexual assault in San Diego, but the pitcher has maintained throughout the legal proceedings that the incidents were consensual.
He was never charged with a crime, leading MLB to reduce his suspension to 194 games.
Despite being reinstated, Bauer was released by the Los Angeles Dodgers and has drawn little interest from any other MLB team.
Despite being known across the league as a divisive figure, he asserted that his signing would not cause a media storm.
There wont be any horrible media.
Itll be two days of 50/50 mix and then everyone will forget about it and 8 months or so later, he wrote on X.
The team will be in the playoffs contending for a World Series..
