In a round filled with marquee matchups, No.

1 USC 's duel with No.

2 UConn looked to be the most captivating of the Elite Eight clashes at least until Trojans star JuJu Watkins ruptured her ACL.

The Trojans are facing an uphill climb if they want to notch a spot in the Final Four.

But they've kept the strong performances going in the games since Watkins went down, toppling Mississippi State and Kansas State without their talisman.

Now, they ready for their toughest test the Huskies and their formidable lead guard, Paige Bueckers.

Bueckers, the presumptive No.

1 pick ahead of the 2025 WNBA Draft, enjoyed one the best games of her career in the Sweet 16, scoring 40 points to power UConn past Oklahoma.

The 23-year old looks well-equipped to handle USC's threat, particularly if she can maintain the aggression she showed against those weary Sooners.

Bueckers would've fed families, there's no doubt about that.

It did as much when the two faced off back in December, a matchup shaped by strong efforts by Watkins and fellow standout Kiki Iriafen.

That game was only settled by two points the Trojans walked out victors.

There's no telling how Bueckers and the Huskies will respond.

But one thing is certain: we'll be watching every step of the way.
